The Menier Chocolate Factory is delighted to confirm that international law firm Pinsent Masons will be Principal Sponsor of the Chocolate Factory for the next two years.
As part of the partnership, the Menier Chocolate Factory and Pinsent Masons are planning to develop a major outreach programme, and launch the brand new 'Pinsent Masons Golden Ticket' scheme, which will offer discounted theatre tickets to young and disadvantaged groups.
Announcing the sponsorship, Pinsent Masons’ London Head, Martin Roberts said:
“Pinsent Masons is longstanding patron of the Arts and is delighted to have the opportunity to support the Menier Chocolate Factory in a way that benefits both the theatre and the local community in and around Southwark."
"The Menier is a truly remarkable theatre which has been producing world class plays and musicals from its unique setting in Southwark since 2004. It has consistently punched above its weight and has managed to make a very significant contribution to London theatre without the benefit of government funding.”
David Babani, Artistic Director of the Menier Chocolate Factory commented:
“I am delighted to welcome Pinsent Masons as our Principal Sponsor as we enter our tenth anniversary year. This is our first major corporate partnership and to have the backing of an international law firm with a renowned reputation in the City of London - and significant commitment to the local community - is hugely positive.
" All of us at the Chocolate Factory look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship, where we can share our expertise in creativity, entertainment and our love of theatre.”
The Menier Chocolate Factory is currently hosting performances of Two Into One, directed by celebrated playwright Ray Cooney OBE, and over the summer will be home to shows by comedian David Baddiel, Broadway composer Andrew Lippa and the celebrated revue Forbidden Broadway.
The theatre is housed in a former chocolate factory dating back to the 1870s, and now comprises a restaurant and bar, rehearsal room and 180 seat theatre.
