Pinsent Masons advises Ebbsfleet Development Corporation on critical land acquisition for garden city project

16 Oct 2019 | 03:16 pm |

International law firm Pinsent Masons has advised Ebbsfleet Development Corporation (EDC) on the acquisition of land from Ebbsfleet Investment GP Limited for a landmark regeneration project.

The acquisition, which is a crucial aspect of Ebbsfleet's plans for a 15,000 home sustainable garden city, will deliver a new commercial and residential centre within the Garden City providing jobs, homes, community and cultural facilities.

A team at Pinsent Masons was led by real estate partner David Meecham including senior associates Louise Wager and John Edwards and solicitor Matt Latchem.

Commenting on the deal, David Meecham, said: "This large scale acquisition of land will be a game changer for Ebbsfleet's ambition to become a garden city providing a wealth of new opportunity for the regeneration project.

"The acquisition represents a significant foothold for the development corporation and will serve as the backbone to their delivery over the coming years."

The deal is the latest of land acquisitions by the EDC. In September the corporation acquired a 1.26 hectare site of unoccupied land in Northfleet from Kent County Council.
