Our seasonal clerkship program will provide you an up-close view of Pinsent Masons in action, and fully immerse you in everything the firm has to offer over the course of four weeks.
The program is designed to have you work closely with our partners and lawyers through involvement in meaningful work. At the same time, you will live and breathe our culture and inform your understanding of what life in corporate law looks like.
We are only able to consider candidates with full working rights in Australia. If you are on a Visa, please include full details and supporting documents in your application form.

Dates for the opening and closing of applications for our seasonal clerkship program are in line with the relevant state’s law society guidelines.
The same is true for the making and accepting of clerkship offers date guidelines.
For Sydney this will be at the start of the calendar year and for Melbourne in the second half of the year.

If you've been shortlisted, you'll be invited to interview with a Senior Associate or Special Counsel and a Partner. During the interview, you'll be asked questions about your studies, work experience as well as some competency questions. It is a chance for us to get to know you better, and you will have the opportunity to ask us questions about the firm.
From there, we will conduct reference checks and, if you've been successful, an offer to join our program will come your way.

At this stage, Pinsent Masons Australia only offers a winter clerkship program.
The number of clerkship positions we offer differs year on year, but typically we recruit around 6-8 clerks for our offices across Australia.
As it’s only a four-week program, there won’t be any rotations. But you will have plenty of opportunities to mingle with different teams, as well as dedicated showcase sessions from all of our practice groups over the course of your program.
We will consider your preferences and do our best to accommodate those. However, we also balance our business needs, and for that reason, sometimes we may not be able to achieve this.
