Multinational law firm Pinsent Masons has advised Kerv Group on the strategic investment by Bridgepoint Development Capital (BDC).
Kerv is a purpose-led cloud and digital services organisation with a mission to harness the power of technology for the good of its people, customers, our society and planet. It offers a suite of cloud-led enterprise software applications, consulting services, cloud networking, information security, software development, data and AI – delivered via specialist technology practices, preserving sector and technology expertise, working together for complex transformational projects.
As part of the transaction, Kerv Group’s existing backer, LDC, will roll over part of its investment alongside Bridgepoint and management.
The Pinsent Masons team advising on the transaction included Catherine Hemsworth (Legal Director, corporate), Peter Morley (Partner, tax) and Rebecca Wilding (Associate, corporate) and involved a cross office team of lawyers. Lisa Early (Partner, corporate) provided advice to the Management team.
Commenting on the deal, Peter Morley said: “It’s been a privilege to work with Alastair Mills, Mike Ing and the Kerv team since Kerv was founded in 2020 during the height of the pandemic. Since then, we have supported Kerv during its impressive growth fuelled by a series of acquisitions and we were delighted to support the business as it enters the next phase of its development. We share Kerv Group’s commitment and values on sustainability and employee engagement, and we’re pleased our expertise and team effort has contributed to the successful completion of this strategic investment.”
Alastair Mills, Co-Founder and Executive Chair of Kerv Group, added: “The investment from BDC represents a significant milestone in our short history. Kerv has quickly established itself as a significant player in the UK digital services market with our sector-leading organic growth. The investment from BDC will enable us to build on those foundations and take Kerv to the next level of scale. The Pinsent Masons team have been with us since the start of Kerv and we really value their partnership. As always, Peter, Catherine and the team provided insightful, practical and commercial advice throughout the process.”
