Multinational law firm Pinsent Masons has been ranked 16th by the Financial Times in its annual Diversity Leaders report – securing the highest ranking for a professional services business for the second consecutive year.
The annual ranking, which evaluates 850 European employers on diversity, gender, age, disability, ethnicity and sexual orientation, saw the firm secure the highest ranking of any professional services firm in Europe – for the second year in a row.
The survey of more than 100,000 employees conducted by research company Statista, assesses employees' perception of companies' inclusiveness or efforts to promote diversity.
Senior partner at Pinsent Masons, Richard Foley, said:
“External recognition of the work we are doing around inclusion is always welcome, especially when we see so many of our client organisations ranked alongside us. The FT’s work in this space continues to reinforce the message that inclusion remains a top priority for business.
“This is particularly important as businesses embrace new working practices as the pandemic highlighted the need for clear and decisive action to promote belonging and inclusion. We must continue to learn from this if we are to properly understand what we must do to drive meaningful change. Our employees will, and should, hold us accountable for the steps that we are taking, and we must listen to them.”
Adapting to challenges presented by the pandemic, Pinsent Masons has progressed its D&I efforts via several initiatives including setting a series of UK workforce targets designed to eradicate barriers to entry and promotion for minority ethnic people and improve diversity. They also launched new training around menopause awareness for line managers.
Furthermore, the firm was recently named as a Top Ten Working Families employer and was named as a top 50 UK employer in The Times Top 50 Employers for Women 2021 report.
