As an innovative law firm, we seek future talent who possess not only ideas and opinions but also confidence and intellectual curiosity. We are interested in individuals who can cultivate relationships, build networks, and contribute to the success of our business. Does this resonate with you?
If the answer is yes, our virtual programmes could be a significant stepping stone in your journey to becoming a lawyer at Pinsent Masons.
Our virtual work experience programmes provide a hands-on learning opportunity, allowing you to gain knowledge and insights that will help direct you toward a path that suits you best. We aim to offer experiences that empower you to shape your journey, enabling you to take control of your legal career.
We offer two different virtual work experience programmes tailored to your academic level:
This free programme is tailored for school students aged 16 and older, and no previous legal experience is necessary! If you are eager to explore what a career in law entails and what it may involve, this programme is an excellent opportunity for you.
Our goal is to improve your time management skills, as well as your abilities in legal research, drafting, and commercial awareness through hands-on training and constructive feedback using model examples. At the same time, you'll gain insight into what it's like to work as a lawyer at Pinsent Masons, providing you with a valuable perspective on the legal profession and its day-to-day challenges.
This free programme is designed for both undergraduate and postgraduate students aspiring to pursue a career in commercial law. It provides an opportunity to gain first-hand experience of the daily tasks typically undertaken by a trainee solicitor, allowing you to explore the inner workings of Pinsent Masons and gain a clearer understanding of what it truly means to work as a lawyer.
Throughout this programme, you will assist a hypothetical client of Pinsent Masons, acquire practical skills to enhance your CV, and develop both your personal and professional capabilities.
There are no eligibility requirements for our virtual work experience programmes, and anybody interested in pursuing a career in commercial law can register for free. We have two programmes based on your education level, both giving you an overview of a career in law and the type of work that might be involved.
Both programmes are available 24/7, 365 days a year so you are welcome to complete at any time that suits you best.
For each task, you will find a recommended time needed to complete them. You don’t have to finish all modules in one day as it might be challenging! We recommend you plan the completion of the course over a few days.
Yes! We encourage everyone who completes the programme to include this on their CV for future job applications. If you make a genuine attempt at completing all the tasks involved you will also receive an online certificate to confirm you have completed the programme.
Both programmes have been crafted by our lawyers to accurately represent the work performed by our trainees at Pinsent Masons. One of our vacation placement students commented: “After completing work experience at Pinsent Masons prior to participating in the virtual programme, I can attest that the tasks truly reflect some of the daily responsibilities handled by trainees and solicitors at the firm, offering students a realistic insight into the role of solicitors.”
