The Modern Family

Since our inception in 2013, we at Pinsent Masons Vario have always been passionate about empowering working professionals to decide their own work life balance and live a full life beyond their legal work. In more recent post-pandemic times, we firmly believe it's vital that we continue to adapt to the needs of our users.   The first step is understanding who our audience are and the unique challenges they face.  Although we value our Vario community, we treat each and every one of our staff and legal bench as individuals and acknowledge that they have their own unique stories, experiences, desires and challenges.  In creating this campaign, we wanted to address a particular issue which our stakeholders were passionate about.  Through polling our staff at Vario, a  particular universal theme which the majority of our team were keen to centre our campaign around was family. 

Family is such a large part of all our lives; that may be the family we are born into, the ones we gravitate towards or ones which we create ourselves. There are so many different family structures, members, dynamics and households that it’s extremely difficult to address all these families directly.  Instead, we’ve created this campaign to recognise and discuss the different working families that exist in our society today and the varying challenges they face. We believe it's probably quite different to what we see typically portrayed in media. Although we talk about the differences in families in our campaign, family is also something which unites us all and something we should celebrate. To this end, it seemed to be the perfect subject for our campaign.
