Bénédicte Ziegler-Hussenet
Our latest Vario Story does things a little differently. Previously, these pieces have been used as a chance to highlight the amazing freelancers working with us and help you get to know their background. This week provides an opportunity to get to know a member of our team working hard to help find the high quality legal talent at Vario's disposal.
Bénédicte Ziegler-Hussenet joined Vario Legal at the end of last year to become an Account Director in our Munich office. Like many members of the business development team, she has a professional background in the legal industry meaning that she is in the perfect place to understand the needs and wants of our Clients. It also means that she can empathise with modern legal professionals because she knows what it takes to carve out a successful career as a lawyer.
Though Bénédicte now lives in Germany, she grew up in the suburbs of Paris with her younger brother and her parents. It was in the French capital that she studied for her degree, graduating with a French and Russian law degree from Paris-Nanterre University. This was far from the end of her studies. She went on to earn her masters degree in business law from Panthéon-Assas University and then a further masters of law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School. It was in Philadelphia that she met her German husband.
Bénédicte has had a varied career within the legal profession initially joining a major international firm in France within the field of Mergers & Acquisitions. She then worked as in-house counsel for a pharmaceutical company in Munich, spending over 16 years in this role after making the move to Germany with her husband in 2004. Through these roles, Bénédicte has gained invaluable insight into the requirements of legal departments and how they look to implement complex legal projects.
Her current position with Vario affords her the opportunity to work from home which in turn has allowed her to find the right balance between her career and family life. Unsurprisingly, this is as important to our internal staff as it is to the freelancers who join our network. She particularly enjoys being able to spend time cooking with her family, but her pass-time of choice is dancing (and it has been ever since she was a child).
