With the best will in the world, sometimes accidents happen, and it is important that you are well prepared and in the best possible position to protect the company’s interests if a health and safety incident occurs.

The mock trial is based on a cable strike incident:

Whilst working on a construction site, an operative cut into an armoured electrical cable with an angle grinder and was thrown into a wall, suffering fractures and a concussion. Following investigation by the HSE, the Principal Contractor is facing prosecution and the potential for a substantial fine. Did the defendant discharge their duties under HSWA 1974 and CDM 2015 or could they have done more?

Who should attend?

Health & Safety professionals, GCs, Heads of Legal and in-house lawyers.
