Bassetlaw District Council has adopted its community infrastructure levy (CIL) charging schedule (4-page / 2.32MB PDF), with residential rates ranging from £5 per square metre to £55 per sq m.

The charging schedule divides the Council's administrative area into three separate residential charging zones. For developments in Retford and Rural East, the CIL rate will be £55 per sq m. In Worksop and Rural West a rate of £20 per sq m will apply, with the lowest rate of £5 per sq to be charged in North West Bassetlaw.

Retail developments within Worksop, Retford and the A1 Corridor will be subject to a rate of £100 per sq m, with a rate of £25 per sq m applying to retail uses in Outer Bassetlaw.

For industrial developments, the Council has set a rate of £15 per sq m in Worksop, Retford and the A1 Corridor and a nil rate levy in Outer Bassetlaw. A district-wide nil rate will also apply to hotels, residential institutions, offices, community institutional uses, leisure, agriculture and sui generis developments.

The charging schedule was adopted at a Council meeting on 27 June. It will come into force on 1 September 2013.
