The Planning Inspector's report on regeneration plans for Bridlington in East Riding is due to published by the end of the month, the Inspector said.

The regeneration plans were originally drawn up in 2010 in East Riding Council's Area Action Plan (AAP), which proposed development of the local harbour to include a new hotel, housing, retail space and a new multi storey car park.

Bridlington Harbour Commissioners are against the development of the harbour top because they say that it takes away land needed to keep the harbour operational.

Two public hearings into East Riding's AAP were held by the Inspector and a report has been produced, but it will not be available until the end of the month. The report will either conclude that the AAP is sound, or suggest amendments which would make it sound.

The report has been sent to the Council, which will check the facts to identify any factual errors and seek clarifications on any conclusions that are unclear. This fact check should be completed in the next week, at which point the report will go back to the inspector before being made available to the public, on or around 20 August.
