A software and IT e-tail site this month appears to have breached the UK Data Protection Act by sending its customers an e-mail which attached a spreadsheet containing the contact and credit card details of other customers, according to news site TheRegister.co.uk.

BuyB4Sold.com is an e-tail site launched and operated by Onehighstreet Limited, a retail web venture which has been operating for three years. Over 120 customers of an auction that ran on the BuyB4Sold.com site are reported to have received the e-mail and its apparently inadvertent attachment.

The attachment disclosed names, addresses, telephone numbers, credit card numbers and card expiry dates, according to The Register. The company has contacted those affected, recommending that they cancel their credit cards.
