The proposals for the 11 acre site include the demolition of existing office buildings and construction of 121 new homes, including affordable housing. The site is currently occupied by DWP but will be free for redevelopment by the end of November following redeployment of staff as part of wider plans by the DWP to "rationalise its estate", Telereal said in a statement.
"The plan we have proposed has been developed following the public exhibition held earlier this year," said Telereal development manager Eric Williamson. "The proposed residential development is very much in keeping with the surrounding area and represents a significant improvement in the use of the site. It will help meet the growing demand for new housing in the area and will provide residents with high-quality accommodation and a good level of public open space," he added.
