The Council resolved in 2013 to grant planning permission for BFC's plans for the construction of the new stadium, a number of residential blocks, shops and a hotel. BFC confirmed in late December that a development agreement has now been reached with Willmott Dixon to construct the scheme, which will include 338 homes for private rent by the developer's private rental sector (PRS) company Be Here.
Willmott Dixon will also construct 70 homes at the site of BFC's current Griffin Park stadium under the agreement following the move to the new stadium.
Andrew Telfer, chief executive at Willmott Dixon's development company Regen, said in a statement: "We are delighted to be working with BFC to turn their exciting vision for a fantastic new stadium into reality."
"Importantly, as long term partners, we have a good cultural fit with BFC as we share a strong commitment to support the growth and prosperity of local communities," said Telfer.
The Council resolved in July 2014 to use compulsory purchase powers to enable BFC to complete its assembly of the land required for the development. The Council published a notice today confirming that the CPO had been made.
BFC said that work at the site is expected to commence later this year.
