Insurance Academy: "Back to Basics"

Hosted by Pinsent Masons' partners and senior lawyers, the Insurance Academy will deliver training on a broad range of legal and regulatory issues on life and general insurance and reinsurance. The Academy will provide both an introduction (or for some, a refresher) into the legal framework in which insurance companies operate and a deeper dive into some topical issues.

For our first webinar in our Insurance Academy series for 2025, we will be looking at fundamentals of insurance and reinsurance law and regulation.

The upcoming webinar will address the following topics:

• What is insurance and why does that question matter.
• The basics of the regulatory framework.
• Key differences between life insurance and general insurance.
• Key concepts of reinsurance and different reinsurance models.
• Current issues facing the industry.

Who should attend

Anyone who has an insurance background to their work. As this session is a refresher on the fundamentals, it may be particularly useful for those from a non-insurance background and anyone new to the sector.
