Emma is a specialist employment lawyer who advises businesses with operations or interests in the UAE and wider Middle East region, and the UK, on all aspects of employment and labour law issues.
Emma advises local and multi-national businesses with respect to all of their Middle East and UK employment law and HR requirements. Emma is based in the UAE and has experience advising employers on UAE labour law matters (including in the UAE's economic free zones, including the DIFC and ADGM), as well as all of the key GCC jurisdictions. Emma supports and advises clients on a wide range of employment law and HR matters, both contentious and non-contentious in nature. This includes employee relations, dismissals, employee litigation, contractual queries/disputes, breach of privacy/confidential information, restrictive covenants and also on large, multi-jurisdictional employment law projects.
Emma retains a UK practice and advises clients in all sectors, including clients in the Manufacturing, HE and Energy sectors, on all aspects of their employee relations and HR strategy. Emma advises clients on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious UK employment law although she has a particular interest and focus on providing advice on complex and strategic matters relating to trade union law and industrial relations advice, as well as TUPE and outsourcing transactions and strategic restructuring issues. Emma has spent time on secondments to clients including acting as in-house advisor to its HR and Employee Relations team where she gained an appreciation of the day-to-day employment challenges faced by organisations. Emma regularly undertakes advocacy in the Employment Tribunal, and advises on complex and strategic litigation.
