Georgina is an experienced safety lawyer specialising in WHS, coronial inquests and regulatory prosecutions. She advises clients in navigating complex and often highly sensitive WHS issues across a range of industries including construction, manufacturing, transport, rail, energy, utilities, and mining.
Georgina assists clients with both front end advisory and litigated matters, from the moment an incident occurs, through the regulatory investigation to a prosecution or coronial inquest. She is often first on the scene after an incident occurs and has assisted clients in navigating the aftermath of an incident, providing advice and support and attending interviews with the Regulator. Georgina provides pragmatic and commercial advice to clients in relation to work health and safety, heavy vehicle laws and rail safety obligations to assist in reducing their liability.
She regularly provides training to executives and senior management on their WHS and due diligence obligations pursuant to the legislation and associated regulations. Georgina has conducted a number of investigations and gap analyses in relation to clients’ safety management systems and assisted clients in successfully appealing prohibition and improvement notices.
